heater not blowing very warm

Hello, I have a 92' Ford Ranger with 2.9 V6. My heater is not blowing warm enough. It is not cool, but mildly warm. Radiator, hoses, coolant, water pump, coolant temp sender, fan clutch are all ok.

Could there be a slow leak in the heater core? Last time this happened, steam came out the vents. But there was no spillage inside the truck.

2 things come to mind really quick. You did not mention thermostat being new, and how about the heater controls? Can you verify that the heater door is closing all the way when the temp is on full hot?

I actually did replace the heater core. The heater control seems to be ok. How can I verify if heater door is working ok? The thermostat was replaced last year at the same time I replaced the radiator.

Thanks,
Dave

Is there any way that you can reach the blend door actuator? If so see if you can manually close this door any further than the controls will allow them to function.

Hi wheelsup, I don't know where the blend door actuator is. I assume somewhere under the dashboard?

Last few days it has been blowing nice and warm. Could be one of those intermittent problems.
