I've got a 1997 Ford Ranger. I bought it used, and it didn't come with an owner's manual. How can I find out if it has a passenger side airbag?Looking at the dashboard, it looks like it has the"cutout" for one, but I've never seen a keyhole to turn it off, and there's no idication anywhere that the truck has one.

Can anyone tell me how to find out if I have one, and if so how/where to turn it off? Thanks!

 

Passenger airbags weren't mandated until later MY's.. If your was optioned/equipped, it would have a PAD (passengerairbag deactivation) switch and wouldbe constructed with a moulded-in tear seam that separates when the air bag inflates along with an identifing SRS ect on the bag cover..

If your car was in an accident then you will have to get your airbag control module reset. I had the same problem with my Ford and the dealer wanted $220 for the new module. I have sent my module towww.myairbags.com and they have reset my module for $55 with FREE shipping. I sent them my module and they had a fast 1 day turnaround and shipped it back to me and I had it back in a few days. I would recommend these guys to anyone. I have saved a lot of money !!! [/align]
