Default leaking head gasket?

Hello,
Question, I've got a 98 Ranger super cab with 93,000 miles. I put JBA headers, Magnaflow dual cat back exhaust, Jet module and Hellwig front and rear sway bars on, that was a lot of work! Noticed that there is alot of oil caked around the valve cover on the left side of the 3.0 motor. Head gasket? The oil appears to be leaking all down the block, not like a constant flow but you can see it, dirt and stuff in it. Made for some really dirty hands while working on it!
By the way the fix listed here in the forum for the A/C (pin in the door actuator) works like a charm! Thanks.

CHeck the radiator fluid for oil or water in your oil. Then that would be the headgasket. But I am betting the vavle cover gasket. I have the 4.0, and had to replace the valve cover gaskets as I was getting the caked on oil around the valve cover.

Thanks, did not see any oil in the coolant, or coolant in the oil etc. guess I will take it in and have the valve cover gasket replaced. Looks pretty involved, guessing the intake manifold and all has to come off to get to it since it curves over to the left over that side of the motor!
