I would go with a suspension lift, thats just me though. there are two ways to lift your truck, body lift( it will cost you about $250.00 and the kit comes with front and rear bumper brackets). You can do a suspension lift but it will cost you some green, 98-2005 rangers cost out the a_s to lift compared to 93-97 rangers which cost about $400-$800 to lift, there are 3 company's who make suspension lifts for 98-2005 Rangers, the first is Superlift(www.superlift.com) this lift will cost you about $1,500.00, its a good lift, I had this lift on my 2001 Ranger, if you get this lift get your front drive shaft replaced or get the replacement from superlift, this is a 4" lift. The second is RCD(Race Car Dynamics)(rcdsuspension.com) this kit is the one you want, i have this kit on my 2004 ranger 4x4, this kit replaces your torsion bars and replaces them with a coil over conversion which is a thousand times better than the torsion bars, all this will cost you $2500.00 this is a 5" lift. The third is from a company called Dixon Bros. Racing(dixonbrosracing.com) I dont know much about this company or the lift but it looks like these guys know what there doing, this lift runs about $2900.00. The prices for these lifts dont include the price for install, the prices as far as i know do include all hardware and shocks are included in the prices. these kits are for 4 wheel drive rangers only there are 2 wheel kits out there that are cheaper. These are from what i have seen the only kits for 98-2005 rangers, alot of people think a 93-97 kit will fit there 98-2005, it will not and i dont know why people think that but they do, the 93-97 rangers had the TTB front suspension and the 98-2005 has the torsion bar set up which is totally different. I own a 93 Ranger 4x4 , and i have the superlift 6" suspension lift on it and i also own a 2004 Ranger 4x4 with the 5" RCD lift, i have also owned a 99 ranger 4x4 which the only thing i did to it was put a body lift on it and i owned a 2001 ranger, i added a superlift suspension and a body lift.

No questions about it, go with Suspension Lift!
If you still want more, then do a small body lift. Exposed frames with gaps=ugly!
