Default Need Advice about 97 Ranger please.

Ok heres the deal, i just got a 97 ranger, it seems it has hardly any power when i step on the gas, which shouldn't happen. Its the 4.0 v6. I thought it was the trans at first, but it doesn't slip and is still driving. If i put the pedal to the floor from a dead stop it wont even squak the tires, and once it gets going if you continue to floor it, it feels like it wants to stall. i think its something with the fuel/air mixture. Any Ideas? Please let me know.

Also my heat/ac doesn't turn on at all. possible blower motor. who knows.

The first place to look is at the fuel filter, have it changed and see if there is a difference. Do you have a check engine lite on? You could have a weak fuel pump, or a bad MAF meter which is located in the air intake system. MAF=Mass Air Flow. Just a few places to go to look at your problem.
