Need help ordering brake drums
Hey ranger dudes and dudets. I could use alittle help from some one out there.
I have a 98 ranger automatic with 4 wheel drive that i picked up a year ago and its time for new rear brakes. On line ordering for drums of all brands (even motorcraft)gives me a choice of drums for standard or heavy duty suspension. I called two ford parts departments and they dont know why there is a choice or a difference in the drums. They cant tell me from my vin number what i have because the truck is to old. I know i have torsion bars in front but i dont know what i have in back. Anybody got ah clue out there? |
Sometimes the answer is found in the diameter of the old drum or the length of the brake shoes.

thanks Hanky,
your right. I had to do a physical dimension check on the drums that are on the truck. I just wanted to know what my truck called for. I have 10 inch drums and they sell 3 different 10 inch drum sizes. well I received them and painted and ready to do the job. thanks again |
