Default old ford ranger question

Do 1983,1984,and 1985 Ford Rangers have full frames or are they unibodies?
Some guy pulled out of his driveway without looking. He is saying his truck is demolished and should be payed $3000!
Door got pushed in.
It was his fault for not looking for traffic on the main road.

All Rangers are FULL FRAMED.

I had a 1988 Ranger S/C 4x4 that my wife was driving about 35 MPH when someold guy turned left in front of her with a Taurus. She hit him just behind the front right tire mand then moved down to the rear tire. Bet my bumper, busted the plastic grill by the right head light and crickled the right front fender a little. My two kids were in the jump seats and thought she hit a pot hole.

Be sides that...He backed out in front of you. As far as I know...It's actually illegal to back out onto a roadway, thus he is in the wrong.

Thanks for responding.
I looked and took pic of his door. Below the door is a panel that is bent in.
I saw the main frame above the back wheel. I don't think the metal strip below driver's door is the main frame. He is trying to tell me the truck is totaled.

dont even talk to him!!! you already have said and done too much!!! call your ins co and law enforcement and let them iron out the details...besides if it is totaled AND your fault a mid 80's ranger likely books around $300-$500, never settle an accident on your own!! only bad things can come of it
just checked...bluebook only goes back to 1990 and that was valued at $700 in good condition!!!!!

That part is just the rocker panel...It's about a $40-50 part and easy to replace...I still say he is in the wrong and is trying to throw blame onto you. Like "wavewarrior" said, contact your INS Co. and if need be, the police to get a report.

considering that the new ranger is much more technologically advanced than your old one you are lucky that you get the same, the new one should get much better mileage.
