Default Piston rings

Why is it that i can not find rings for a 98 ranger 2.5 4cyl I have called all the supply houses in town None even list a part number.They include Advanced auto,autozone,Performance auto,NAPA,Auto Value,CarQuest.Thats just the major ones.Does anyone know whats up?

No, That is wierd, you would think someone would have info as 98 is really not that old of a vehicle. Did you try calling a Ford dealer to at least get a part number, then call those guys back and they should be able to cross reference the number.
