Default Power steering problem

Okay, here's a little history. We have a 2001 Ranger with 3.0 engine. A couple of weeks ago it broke the drive belt. This is the second one in less than 55,000 miles. After a closer look both of the idler pulleys looked, for a better word "warped". I think given the history that they were bad from the very beginning. We have replaced them. Now the problem, when going around a turn, as in having a green arrow and making a turn without stopping, the steering shutters. My thought is that when the belt broke and was driven about 100 yards that possibly air got into the power steering system and the system needs to be bleed. Could this be possible? Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
