Removing rear-view mirror

Removing rear-view mirror
Hello, first post here and a basic one at that...
Need to remove & reinstall the rear-view mirror in my '93 Ranger and not sure of the best way about it. Anything to dissolve the "adhesive"? Heat?
Mine is WAY-OFF center and it drives me nuts (passenger sun-visor hits it...it's that far off!)
Thanks!

RE: Removing rear-view mirror
I would remove the mirror its self , has that lil allen in the middle of it , leaving the small Alum. disc thing , Take a good sharp wood chisel , an place its edge against the mirror an the bracket , like your going to shave it off , An give it a tap with a hammer ( tap light ) it should just pop off
that way. Then get a razor blade remove glue from glass , an from the disc.clean up the glass an disc with some alchol ,, Use like a Black magic marker, on the out side of the windshield where you would like for the mirror be , draw a small circle, Then Apply the glue as directed, Stick on the disc. hold in place for a few minutes, Then let it set up over nite an install the mirror the next day ,, dont forget to remove the magic marker from the outside of glass , same deal , use razor an alchol, Thats all theres is to it ,Ive never had one fall off this way ...
