Default SEAT BELT ALARM

iI HAVE A 96 FORD RANGER STEPSIDE WITH SMALL 4 CYL STICK. THE SEAT BELT ALARM( I THINK) FREQUENTLY STARTS WHILE I AM DRIVING MAKING A LONG BONG BONG BONG SOUND. HOW CAN I DISCONNECT OR STOP THIS.I TRYED DISCONNECTING INSIDE OF DOOR PANEL BUT THIS SHUTS DOWN WINDSHIELD WIPERS TOO. AFTER SHUTTING OFF FOR AWHILE AND RESTARTING SOMETIMES MAKES IT STOP. THIS IS SO ANOYING

directions for shutting it off should be in your owners manual under "seat belt minder" The procedure varies from different years, but is very easy and only takes a minute or so. Usually just a series of turning the healights on/off and buckeling the belt a certain number of times.

In the owners manual is the entire list for the process of disconnecting the seat belt alarm. I disconnected mine in my 2005 ranger, and it only took about 2 minutes.

when the alarm goes off push the button that releases the seatbelt from the buckle. i do that in my 00 ranger and it wont go off till you shut the truck off. or you can just disconnect it. good luck
