Default for those who have a aftermarket exhaust...

what do you have. i have a flowmaster type muffler on mine and its good i just want it a little louder. i thought about glass pack and all but i think it will sound like a highpowered weed eater.

any suggestions on mufflers or what not thanks.

I have the gibson side swept exhaust, sounds much better than the factory exhaust, but not very loud. removing the contents of the 2'nd cat made a big differance in the sound level. I have not messed the the first(closest to manifold) yet.

I had a '99 with the gibson swept side exhaustand it wasn't very loud but I turned the muffler around so it was flowing more freely through and not getting caught by the baffles and it sounded better, that was on the 3.0 liter. I don't know how you feel about foreign parts but I think the best sounding ones you can get are the TRD mufflers , which I think are made by borla. Friend has one and it sounds really good.

i got stock cat and a mystery muffler that is a turbo 2 but i dont know who makes it then its dumped with a camaro tip before the tire sounds like a diesel truck but is hardly louder than stock? I think the best exhaust to run is bubba off road pipes. headers then straight pipes into good mufflers or just one muffler.like borla flowmaster gibson, magnaflow, bassani a high quality brand then run you pipes however u want em. but u have to get whats called an cat eliminator so you computer doesent know that your cat is gone and it stays in closed loop. all it is an o2 sensor that gives a reading as if you had a cat. i dont know where u find em or how mutch they cost but we are runnin it on my friends mustang gt and the power gains are insane. The major draw back to this is your truck may not pass emissions
