2001 Taurus SEL... The drivers side seat will not go forward or backwards, It will go up and down. When the switch is pushed in to move front or back I can hear the motor but the seat doesnt move. I Just purchased this and I knew about the problem prior to, since it has power adjusting pedals I didnt think it would be a big problem, after saying that when my fiancee tryed to drive the car she has to lean forward a bit to reach the pedals! ;( So i was wondering if anyone has gone through this and if so what was the actual problem. Any help at all would be appreciated..... shes not very happy with me right now!

 

The motor works, but the seat don't move? Sounds like the seat track is damaged and will need replaced. Not a fun job even for an experienced tech. Maybe you can get lucky and find a good one at a junkyard the same color.

 

Thanks for the reply... In your opinion, How much do you think a Ford dealership would charge to replace the track.. Parts & Labor?
