02 Taurus TP sensor service difficulty
I need to change the throttle position sensor on my 02 Taurus, 3.0 12V engine. I can't seem to get the bottom screw out. It is very awkward and I can't get enough pressure on the Phillips head screw to loosen it. I have been trying to do it with one of those little right angle screwdrivers. Must I remove the throttle body assembly to get this screw out? Is there some tool that I might try to get the screw out before I remove the throttle body? Any ideas from someone who has done this will be appreciated.
Have you tried a small set of needle nose vise-grips and gripping the side of the screw head to break it loose? I've used them before on items such as that. However, if the screw is crudded into the hole, you may end up just snapping the screw head off. Just have to be easy on it. Otherwise, it's drill and tap time. Been there, done that also.
