Default 1995 Taurus/v6 problem

When I am driving( any speed), example at 100km per hour, suddenly, I lose power, my speed drops considerably, the car makes like white noise sound. I pull over, put in park and resume as if nothing happened! It is frightening when this happens on an express highway when you're counting on getting out of the way of faster traffic. This happens sporadically and you never know when it will happen again until it happens! It seems to be happening more frequently however, and lasting for longer periods when it does happen. Any ideas anyone, they can't put on a diagnostic machine because it doesn't show a code unless it is acting up......by the time I get to a garage, it seems to be alright again. No warning lights come on in my dash panel.
Thanks to anyone with a possible answer.

Default RE: 1995 Taurus/v6 problem

Is the car stalling or just loosing power? If it's stalling I would say either something electrical is cutting out or the fuel pump is shutting off. I had a BroncoII that would just shut off, turned out to be fuel pump related.
