2000 Taurus Power Windows
Today as I wasdriving I open my window on the drivers side then when I was closing it the thing did not go up all I heard was some clicking sound coming from under the dash. I pulled over and turn off the car and turn it back on to see if it fixed itself and still the same thing. When I press down it goes down but when I push up all I hear is a clicking sound coming from under the dash. All the other windows work fine except for the drivers side. I pulled off the door panel and was able to manually roll the window up until it's fixed. I want to make sure I get the right part so if this ever happened to anyone before is the problem my master window switch? A friend of mine said it's the master control switch as the mother works when I go down but just not up and all it does is click under the dash.. any help please..
thanks..
thanks..
Even though it works going down I think it sounds like your window motor is bad. Have you attempted to tap on the motor body when pressing the up switch to see if it will go up or work briefly. When you said you got it up manually was there slack there? Could also have a bound up window regulator cable.
Well I took it to a glass shop and the guy helped he rolled it up. He said it looks like it's the master switch because he changed the motor and put another one in and then try to open and close and I can see the motor going in reverse but when the switch is pressed for up it still makes that clicking sound but it doesn't go up. I'm gonna shop on ebay for a master switch
