2002 Taurus Gremlins
Heres one for ya,
I have a 2002 Taurus with the DOHC motor. Car starts up, idles and revs ok. Heres the problem, you drive five feet in foward or reverse and it stalls. Turn the left turn signal on and it will stall. Turn the headlights on, it will stall. When you turn the key foward the interior lights cycle on and off 4 times then stay on. The Left turn signal arrow stays lit all the time. The wipers are in/op and when the wipers are switched on the relay buzzes for a sec. There are DTC's set, codes for the wipers, safety belt circuit, deck lid circuit. If you run a self diagnostic on the GEM it aborts the test. I swapped out the GEM with a known good one and still have the same problem. All fuses and relays check out good. No obvious bare wires or loose connections. This happened suddenley with no warning. The car ran perfect before this.
Any suggestions besides trade it in?
Thanks

RE: 2002 Taurus Gremlins
I fixed this problem a few months ago. Turned out to be a bad ground on the frame. This is the ground for the fuel pump relay, abs pump, and a few other things. When this ground went bad everything grounded through the L/F marker light. The fuel pump would lose its ground when the lights were turned on making the car stall. Anyway I cleaned the ground which is located on the L/S apron behind the air intake box. Everything works perfectly now.
