Default 2002 Taurus loss of power and no codes

So I have a 2002 Taurus wagon and recently it started losing power. The day after about mid day, the car started fine and and after driving out of my driveway, the cars power steering went out and no matter how hard I hit the throttle, nothing happened, no rpm change or anything. I let the car sit for a while and it started and the power steering worked, but there was still a loss of power. Any idea what it could be?

I have had a defective generic electronic module (GEM) produce that problem.
Best to have someone with a hi end scan tool check out that problem. It just may have set a code in the computer's memory.

Would unplugging the battery and resetting the ECU fix that problem? I do not have access to a High End scan tool.

I don't know, but it would do no harm to try.
