2006 Taurus SE P0760 shift solenoid C code
I received a "check transmission" message and the check engine light on left side of instrument panel is also on. The car seems to be operating/shifting fine. Looking up the code says it's a "P0760, Shift Solenoid "C" circuit fault". I removed the battery cables in an attemt to clear the code to see if it may have been a glitch but removing the battery cables did not clear the code. Is there any way to clear the code? And also, is this fault something that could eventually damage my transmission if I continue to drive the vehicle? All fluid levels are good. Thanks!

You need to have the code erased with a scan tool. Some major parts chains will read and erase the codes for free. That code should be for the 3-4 shift solenoid. If it is actually a problem, yes it will eventually damage the transaxle.
