I have a loud clicking sound under the dash directly in back of the steering wheel column when the ignition is turned on. It clicks about 5 to 6 times then stops. I have found the device that is making the sound by reaching under the dash while I turn the key on. I cannot tell if it is a relay. It has a red retaining clip where the wires attach to it. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If this is when you have the key in 'on' but not start, you more likely hearing the ABS system doing a 'self-check'.
