Default 3.5l naturally aspirated.

Doing a timing and water pump job on the 2015 Taurus. Trying to line up the timing marks. I have them all in the correct place but only one can lock will actually seat. Anybody come across this before? Also have my concerns about the integrity of this motor. Diagnosed the water pump a few months ago and told the client not to drive it. He did an oil change and kept going. Oil was filled with about 8 extra qts of coolant.

I don't see any timing marks on the chain. How did you install the chain correctly ?

If you line up the marks on the new chain with the timing marks the cam locks will usually drop in.

Before removing chain, slop and wear may prevent the locks from dropping in place.
