Hello all, Kinda new here. Hi, how are ya?

I have a problem hope you can help. Mother N' Law has a Ford Taurus and its started to leak coolant (1992) I took a look see and saw that the leak was comming from a pipe near the firewall. This is odd to me. Never saw leak coming from pipes before. The hoses are conected to the pipe and the leak looks to be coming from the center bottom of it. ever heard of this before? what is this pipe called? I called Pepboys and they have no idea. Is this pipe hard to replace? she cant afford a tone, but she gotta do what she gotta do.[8D]

 

Thats a tough one. The only pipes that im aware of on the Taurus is the leads going to the heater core. If this is not the case, im kind of questioning if someone rigged up the vehicle somehow and is now leaking from the poor fix. It's not out of the question ya know. I wonder if you can take the car over to Pep Boys and just ask one of the parts guys to take a look to see what the pipe leads too. Im sure they can take a second to come out and have a look.

 

Long time but I fixed it the next day. Went to a salvage yard, took one from another Taurus. fixed it in about 1 hour. from pull apart. cost 15.00 plus my time to take it off. It was the heater core pipe.
