94 to 95 swap/ autolock problem
Ok I have a 95 Taurus 3.0l with a blown motor. I also have a 94 with a tired but running motor. The Haynes manual has mentioned differences that the 95 has but is less than specific on what those differences are, something about pulling engine codes differently. I know that the water pump is different but what else? Looking at parts they list 91 to 94 then 95. Physically these two motors look identical. A rebuild for the 94 is around $135 and the 95 is $235 so I assume there are some differences somewhere. What are they?
I want to put the 94 motor in the 95 but I don't want to do it and then find out something isn't compatible. I need to know if the 94 will bolt in to the 95 (I think this part will work) and if the wiring harness will plug in and everything work when I am done (this part I'm not sure about).
Thanks
Jeff

RE: 94 to 95 swap
Just for the record a 94 3.0 will work in a 95 chassis with same motor. My problem now is that the automatic locks lock but the button on either door won't open them. When the car goes into Nuetral the doors lock, I don't know if they are supposed to then unlock when shifted into park or not. At any rate I cannot unlock the doors with the lock buttons and when they lock everytime I put it in gear it becomes annoying!
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Jeff
