Default 97 Taurus transmission surges while stopped

I have a 97 Taurus with 123K miles. It has been very well cared for with all fluids and filters changed on a regular basis. Lately, when I pull up to a stop sign, or red light, it feels like it wants to go on. It has a "surging" feeling. I watch the tach and it may show just a slight bobble, 25-50 rpm max. Engine is tight and runs smooth. What should I be looking at in regards to this problem?

Over 100,000 miles a transmission filter change might help.

With regular maintenance - could be converter or computer trouble. If converter is engaging slightly could be trans. overheating (dirty cooler lines, bad converter, etc.) or could be computer trouble, bad speed sensor (reads that you're moving so engages converter to move you) or engine surging and engaging the converter. If the tach is rising at first then drops back down - engine surge (check engine troubles) if tach is dropping first transmission converter is engaging and dropping idle and it lets go andRPM picks back up - trans. trouble.
