Default 98 power steering

I replaced the pump, put new fluid in ran the car and turned the wheel back and forth. When you turn the car off it's like a volcano out of the top of the pump. When running it continues to whine, and the fluid looks foamy all the time. Please help.

It just has air in the system, expecially a problem if it has a muffler in the pressure hose. Which will look like a big bulge in the pressure line about a foot from where it comes off the pump. The pump compresses the air and when you shut the car off the air pushes the fluid out of the pump. It is a slow process but start the car and turn the wheel to the stop and shut off the car, let it set for a minute and start the car and turn the wheel to the other stop and shut off the car again. You may need to do this quite a few times to get the air out and dont let the pump run low on fluid or you will get air in the system again.

Thanks guys, it didn't work on the first pump, but I replaced it again and it went to work quickly after following your procedure. Thanks again!
