Default 99 Taurus steering rack

I'm Working on replacing the Steering rack in my 99 Taurus and I'm wondering ifI haveto lower the sub-frame to get it out?

Anybody know if you can get it out without lowering the engine cradle?

Not sure if will come out without lowing the subframe. I always lower the back of the subframe and it makes reaching the lines and removing the rack much easier. Watch the trans shift cable and if it has the dogbone on the top of the motor remove it first. [align=right]

The rear subframe should be dropped about 4"
