Big Problems
Its a 2000 Taurus with the V6 3.0 and dual overhead cams.
One of the ignition coils blew out of the hole yesterday. The check engine light started to blink and tell me that the engine was misfiring. Before I found that the coil had blown out I randomly pulled coils to see if the engine would sputter more or stay the same to figure out what was wrong. I did the front three and then went to the back were I found one coil just hanging there with a missing rubber boot and no spark plug. So I went today and got a new ignition coil and spark plug put them in and now it runs a lot better but still has a sputter and jumps every now and then. The check engine light stopped blinking and it just on. So I took it to Advance Auto Parts and the pulled the codes for me. I got three beautiful codes that read:
P0353 - Ignition Coil C Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
I know it could be the ignition coil or the wires. I just replaced the spark plugs, the wires look fine, and the ignition coil was replaced. So I have know idea what to fix.
Any ideas or help would be great. Just trying to get my fiance back on the road without giving up my Jeep.
Thanks!
