Unhappy A/C cause overheating, why?

Got problems with overheating. Change water pump and thermostat, but problem continue. Car runs ok until I start the A/C, the temperatures go all the way up in less than 5 minutes after the A/C is on I turn it off and temperature goes to normal.

Are the cooling fans work properly?

Check to see if the radiator fan is coming on when you turn on the a/c. It should.

Some cars have a two speed fan. Your fans may not be working right on the high speed causing the overheating. It could be a bad fan relay causing the fan not to run on the high speed.
