I just bought a 2006 taurus and the brake and gas pedal are about 3 inchs diffrent in hieght. the gas being lower... I can't seem to find a comfortable spot in the seat and my foot fits between the pedels. I can see myself needing to slam on the break and missing it compeltly because of the diffrences in hieight. Is this normal?

Did your car come with an owners manual? Adjustable pedals were an option (maybe standard?) for your car. Read the instructions on how to adjust them in the manual.
