chirping sound in back
ok so my buddys 98 ford Taurus with 47,000 miles has a chirping sound that seams to be coming from the back. The faster the louder you can hear it in side with the windows up (but not over 40mph). It seams to go away when he puts on the brakes and when he turns.
I dont know brakes very well but I thought if it was the brakes it would get worse when he put them on. could it be a bearing or somthing? or does it just need new pads.
also on a side note he called me today complaining about a thumping noise every time he hits a bump. He thought it was comming from under him behind the seat. I did not post somthing because he seamed unsure, and I have not sean it. I told him to drive it as least as possible and I will look at it tomarrow.

The CHIRP could be a failing wheel bearing or just the brake shoes rubbing. Would need to pull the drums to check the shoes and mounting hardware.
The THUMP is probably work stabilizer end link(s) worn. These are cheap plastic "Ball & Socket" units.
