I was out of town over the weekend and when I returned, I found that my car wouldn't start as if the battery was dead, but I also noticed a clicking sound coming from under the dash. I've never heard this before. Even tried jumping it, but still no luck.

Could it be that something tripped the security system over the weekend?

 

This problem sounds to me like it is coming from the "Fuse Panel" under the steering wheel. The clicking noise you are hearing sounds like a relay. In fact, there are relays in that box....none that can prevent the car from starting.....but hey there is a starter relay under the hoods fuse box. I would replace that.

 

I have a similar problem, were you able to fix this?
