Default cooling system Q's

Hi everyone,

Just a few basic Q's here

1. I have a 24v V6. 2000. Where the heck is the radiator drain plug?

2. Got a persistent Low coolant lite. No overheating, Overflow tank is actually too high but I did that by blindly filling it.

3. Does this engine have timing belts or chains?

Thanks and I appreciate your attention!

I have worked on the cooling system before and recall the drainplug to either be well hidden or non existant so I just removed the hose I was replacing and tried my best to capture the coolant - kind of messy though. The 24 V Duratec has timing chains which I think is better than a timing belt - - no worry about replacing the chains. You can see the chain when you remove the oil filler cap. These motors will run forever IF you always keep the oil at the full mark and never let them run hot.
