Just wanted to know what my options are with the in dash cassette player I Have in my 1999 Taurus Se ? It has a cassette, cd changer controls, but it also has all of the A/C & Climate controls? What happens to them if I install an aftermarket cd player? Can I install a 1.5din or 2 din in Dash motorized tv/dvd player?

If all of that is a no, can I add a CD Changer in the trunk? Does it have to be Ford or Taurus Compatible or will any do?

I have a 1997 Taurus with that same ridiculous dash climate control system. The only way to add an aftermarket system is to purchase a dash kit. Click on Ford Taurus Metra Dash Kit. Just type 'FORD TAURUS METRA' in your search bar and you will get a list of dash kits compatible with your car.

Installing a METRA it is the best way to go (as I have learned). UNFORTUNATELY there's only one DIN SIZE available due to the climate controls attachment to your current system.

It's best for you to change to the dash kit then you can configure your system the way you really want to (as I will). Example, in dash CD/DVD/Monitor (auto rollover/flip down), in trunk CD/DVD changer or head rest monitors, etc.

Oh, who uses cassettes any more?
