Door ajar light

2001 taurus...Door ajar light stays on..would not bother me that much,but key warning bell goes off when I am sitting in the car,with the ignition off or on acc. Is there anyway to disconnect the bell

Have you tried spraying all of your door latches with silicone spray and then work the latches? The switches are in the latches and hang-up after time from crud. Give it a try.

Your door ajar switch might be cooked. I assume that your drivers side is the problem.

The part number for the L/H drivers door and the L/H rear door is XF1Z 10B987 AA, readily available stock.
