fender height changes after strut replacement
After a local tire shop replaced the front struts on my 2007 Taurus, the fender heights were 29 inches, instead of the correct 28 inches. I was billed for Monroe quickstruts but found Autozone Duralast loaded struts underneath instead. Monroe headquarters claimed that the fender heights were not right, so I pressed the case and got them replaced with Monroe. The fender heights were still 29 inches. Is there something about replacing original struts with complete strut assemblies that could cause this height difference and Monroe techies not even understand it? Would OEM Motorcraft complete assemblies give the correct height?
