Ford Taurus PROBLEMS!!!!
I have a 98 Ford Taurus with a 3.0l V-6 engine that developed a oil pressure problem it lost psi and my step daughter continue to drive it home about 8 miles with no oil psi lifters were making noise. So I picked up a engine out of a 97 Taurus with 72,000 miles from a Salvage Yard and put it in the car this weekend. After getting the engine in the car and rehooking up all the electrical I put the battery bad in it and tried to start it but it would turn over but not start. Checked fuel psi at the rail no psi could not here the fuel pump at all so I checked for power at the fuse it ok checked the relay and found power at #5 terminal on the relay all the time with key off when you turn the key on terminal #1 and #2 also had power and thats way the fuel pump relay is not turning on but why so I jumpered the #5 terminal to the #4 terminal and the pump come and and I had fuel psi but it still won't start. So I hooked up my code reader to the data link port and turned it on but it wont read anything. So my question is this could the computer have lost its memory and need to be reprogrammed because the battery was unhooked for about a week??
Thanks
