Found On Road Dead
My 91 Ford taurus stalled and died when I was driving on the highway the other night. I tried to restart it but, it just cranks over but would not start. I checked one of the spark plug wire to see if it has spark and it does. Checked all the fuses and their all good. I just recently replaced the spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, had the brakes redone and a new radiator put in it. It has 175,000 mi if that helps. Please help me as I'm out of clue !
There's a black box right under the plastic that goes over the radiator. It's been awhile so I've forgotten what it's even called. Some kind of ignition module. At any rate, tap lightly on that box by hand or with the end of a screwdriver and see if the engine starts then. If it works after tapping, then you've found your problem. I've seen a few of those go bad and the old timer techs I know all go straight to that module when diagnosing 91-95 or so taurus
Good luck
