Our 2005 Taurus SE Wagon is away at college so I can't measure it right now. I am building a knock-down platform bed for my daughter to take back after Thanksgiving and I need to know how wide the cargo area is. All of the specs I can find are cubic measurements, but I need to know the width. The length won't be a problem.

I am basically trying to determine how to cut the platform sections so that they both fit in the back of the wagon but also fit the frame of the full size platform bed securely.

Can someone please provide the following measurements?

1 - Minimum width of cargo space floor - i.e. narrowest measurement anywhere from rear door to the back of driver's seat.

3 - Minimum width of cargo space just above wheel wells - i.e. narrowest measurement anywhere from rear door to back of driver's seat if the platform parts were raised above the wheel wells.
