seat belt alarm will not stop

The seat belt alarms in my 2003 Taurus will not stop ringing even when buckled. Is there a way to fix this?

Try unplugging the wiring harness under the seat that goes to the seatbelt sensor....

The way to disable this is in the owner's manual. I'm going to try it today.
