I have a 96 taurus GL. Gargling sounds were coming from the water pump area, when im idle! I took it to the shop and they said it was my waterpump. I got anew water pump put in. The noise stopped for a couple of days, but nowits BACK!! The same noise is coming from the new water pump! PLease help someone!

 

Could be a crack in a head gasket or in the block or head. If no leaks it could beburning antifreezeand pushing it outthe exhaust. This is usually noticed as white smoke coming out the tailpipe after it is warmed up. The gurgling noise is the absence of antifreeze at the pump. If you're not losing antifreeze I'd be suprised. If it's not smoking at the tailpipe it could still be the same problem only instead the piston is forcing air into the crack (and thereby into the water pump). You may also look for a bolt that someone left out when assembling the pump.
