Default No compression from one spark plug?

Our 1994 Tempo isn't getting any compression from one of the spark plugs. It lacks power, sometimes stalls. We are looking at replacing a piston/ring and the head gasket. Is there anything else that could cause this? This needs to get done STAT. If anyone has an answer, let us know! Thanks !

Bad intake/exhaust valve can cause same issue. Can put compressed air into the sparkplug hole and listen for air leaking into the intake, crank case or exhaust. Just make sure that the valves are both in the closed position and the plug hole has a leak proof fit.

i'm i mower mechanic, but it may be a valve. i don't think they have tappets, but god maybe the lifters. or it could be a deceiving valve seed. i've seen funny things in engines that would put a good mechanic on his head to solve. oh sorry or her
