Ford ThunderbirdStarting in the 1950s, this was a classic American sports cars, from the compact original of the 1950s, to the muscular hard top coupes of the 1980s and 1990s to the retro look of the 2003 model year, this car is, and always will be, an American classic.
So I have a few problems and could use some help I have this 1973 thunderbird it is my first car and heve it for about 5 years now but 3 years ago I rebuild the motor and since than never got it running until last week and took it for the first drive today.
but it makes a really loud hissing noise in drive and in reverse and I can't figure out where it comes from it sounds like somewhere under the hood on the left side it does not have any vacuum leaks I smoked it out a few times to make sure.
And the other problem is it's running high rpms but not immediately after starting it but after I press the gas pedal and it won't come down only after shutting it of a few seconds.
Any help or tips would be great.
