Default 1988 T-Bird speakers

What size are the door speakers in a standard '88 T-Bird? Any recommendations as to brand? Hea unit is 200 watt JVC CD/Radio player driving the dash speakers and rear deck speakers only, no speakers are currently installed in the doors

hey for the speakers you should be able to put in 6"x8" Speakers in the rear and 5-1/4" Speakers in the doors.

Ford has a funky sized speaker for the doors for the '87/'88. Crutchfield has adaptors to allow a standard 5 1/4" round to fit in there. Also, don't rely on just the cutout in the cardboard of the door panel for the sound to get through the carpeting. You'll need to cut the carpeting and install grilles. You might find the speaker grilles on Ebay.
