Default 1988 T-Bird problems, tranny & gauges

I bought my Dad's 1988 T-Bird Turbo-Coupe with automatic O/D. It had set for 9 years. He said the front main seal was out in the transmission. I finally got it running with many new parts. I have been test driving it for about 50 miles and no leak. Then all the sudden tranny oil started pouring out the bell housing. I read somewhere that if it has a lock out solendoid that is stuck it won't put the fluid back into the housing. Also the temp gauge won't work. Replaced the dash and the temp sender, no luck. Also the amp meter doesn't move. Alternator is new and charges good. Any help in these areas would be appreciated. Especially the tranny.
