1990 T-Bird SC a good buy? - Ford Forum - Enthusiast Forums for Ford Owners

Ford Thunderbird Starting in the 1950s, this was a classic American sports cars, from the compact original of the 1950s, to the muscular hard top coupes of the 1980s and 1990s to the retro look of the 2003 model year, this car is, and always will be, an American classic.

Default 1990 T-Bird SC a good buy?

hello, I was searching the craigslist and came across a 1990 T-Bird SC with a 5-spd and 100k miles. he says the car runs and drives, and shifts good but needs TLC (bumper needs to be put on and interior may be in fair shape). it looks clean under the hood and the paint is better for a 90s ford (silver). its $1100 and was wanting it to be a fun daily.

I wouldn't to mods to it unless it was beneficial to it (such as cooling or wheels, cold air intake, etc.) so basically I'm wondering if this is a good car to buy for what I'm wanting to use it for. I hope to keep it for a while if I do get it.

also, do 1990 'Birds have knock sensors for lower grade fuel? I didn't think the 3.8's did especially since its OBD 1 but wasn't sure. I don't mind paying for premium really I was just curious. Thanks (i can link post if needed)

IF it runs and drives well, 100k is low miles for its age, and if actual miles.
1100 doesn’t buy much today, but if it’s a solid runner and wouldn’t require a big investment to square it away cosmetically, might be worth a shot. Of course,, cash talks and some haggling is always in order..

Have any pics available?
