help i have a mint shape 1988 ford thunderbird with a six cyl. i failed inspection for emmissions due to high nox and hc. the mechanic was clueless and told me i need two new catalytic converters. my rear converter is new and is my muffler and half my exhaust . the car is nice and runs great. my friend also a bird man says a few cans of fuel injector cleaner are all that are needed. any thoughts would be much apreciated. thank you

You might also try replacing the PCV Valve. If this is bad it will cause alot of problems. Causes alot of unnecessary gases to build up inside of the engine.
