I have a 02 f-250 that starts to make ding noises when I start the truck and then it stops for a while then starts again when I'm driving. It is not the seat belt chime,no codes, I disconnected the batteries for 10 min. and it still chimes,the only thing is the air bag light does not come on anymore. Any suggestions?

If the air bad indicator lamp is out, and the system detects a SRS fault the restraints control module will send a 'secondary' air bag warning as an audible signal that a fault/failure exists.. The signal will be five sets of five chime tones that will repeat about ever 30 minutes.. Without the air bag lamp functioning and being able to flash out a trouble code or whats called an LFC (lamp flash code) then the only way to know what the trouble is, is to retrieve the DTC's through the data link connector (vehicle diagnostic connector)
