Default 03 Expedition 5.4 ticking noise from engine

I had my tech look at the truck and the ticking noise which does not go away is coming from passenger side (You hear it better from the passenger side). At first they thought it was the exhaust system but now they are saying its the roller rockers. Has anyone had this problem?

The 5.4 is prone to ejecting spark plugs. Mainly on the passenger side of the engine. The symtom normally starts out with what sounds like lifter/rocker noise, but in your case the 5.4 is an OHC engine and could sound like rocker noise. Check for any loose spark plugs on the passenger side. The ticking noise can be high pressure exhaust excaping thru the plug threads before the exhaust valve opens. I would check all plugs and follow proper torque specs for the plugs.

I took the cover off the passenger side head and turn the car on and all the lifters were shooting oil except the two in very back. We replaced the lifters and it still making a ticking sound. We will check the spark plugs next. Those were replaced less than 6 months ago. Thanks
