Default 1986 f150 lariat wont start

i got this truck from my son, drove it home and changed the plugs then it would not start just turn over, checked the fuel pump and rail has plenty of pressure, put on new cap and rotor, light probed all the injectors and they all have power to them it will run on starting fluid only, it is baffling me but has to be something stupid i am not seeing, has anyone had a similar problem with the 302 efi, maybe the fuel shut off switch under the dash?

If you have fuel pressure like you state that you have, then I would not suspect the Inertia Switch or fuel pump relays. Check for a "GREEN" ground. Also, check the ground leads coming off the negative battery terminal. The small one is used to feed a multi-point ground pigtail. One of these grounds specifically goes to the CPU for the fuel injectors. No Ground...No Injector Operation. Ford used a regular fuse connector on most vehicles during the mid-late 80's for assembly line installation. This connector sometimes lets loose after time. The fuse needs not be there. Had the exact same issue with my 88 Ranger S/C. Battery acid over time caused the "EARS" to deteriorate, thus the spring in the fuse holder seperated the connector just enough to loose ground contact. Drove me batty for about 4 days. Good lick
