ok my cousin has a 1997 ford taurus and the ses lights on pulled up p340 just wondering where that senor is locted?

 

DTC P0340 is for the CMP.. Cam Postion Sensor/Circuit..

What engine... 3.0 2V, 3.0 4V, or SHO..

The 3.0 2V is on top of the cam sychronizer.. Pic 1..
The 3.0 4V in the LF front head.. Pic 2..
The SHO n the LF head rear.. Pic 3..
